Data Science MSc

Data Science · Masters

MSc Data Science at the University of Edinburgh explores the computational principles, methods and systems for extracting and structuring knowledge from data — finding patterns in the vast data streams generated by almost every activity in science, society and commerce. Taught by the School of Informatics (1st in the UK for research power in Computer Science and Informatics, REF 2021), the one-year full-time programme requires breadth across machine learning, statistics and optimisation; databases and data management; and applications — with recent courses including Machine Learning Practical, Statistical Programming, Advanced Database Systems, Text Technologies for Data Science and Computer Vision — before a summer dissertation.
